is a good day, in my book!

my daughters declare their preference for pirate protagonists
Ahhh, bliss! We spent a bit of time listening to the sweet sound of lapping waves and the feeling of sand between our toes... and then we were off! ... to wander among royalty and the strange and magical creatures inhabiting the grounds of the Bristol Renaissance Faire.
|Helpful and encouraging... dear, dear Mother Goose!|
Our shirts did get a few comments and spawned a question or two, but honestly, there was so much to see and do, that I forgot what I was wearing until Mother Goose asked about our shirts (and then about my books!) From one storyteller to another *wink*, she seemed very excited to tell me that Snow White and Rose Red were at the faire that day, hanging out in the children's section. From that point on, I made it my goal to find these Grimm-based gals and take advantage of the photo opp!

an abundance of cleavage that was so proudly displayed that it could make a Victoria's Secret catalog look like it was published by Puritans, I never did find my Snow White and Rose Red. With all the costumed lovelies running around (did I mention that we even saw two incarnations of Dr. Who?) I could not locate the young ladies on whom THE RYN and THE REMEDY were based.
|Random mythical and medieval folk. These guys scared me a little bit.|
I may have done a "snap and run" pic here... ;)
Still, I cannot deny that I had a great time! The Bristol Renaissance Faire is fantastic with several stages of quality, live entertainment . . . and plenty of "unofficial" entertainers roaming about, too! It runs until

Ahhhhh, the life.
Have you ever been to a Renaissance Faire? Did you go as an observer or did you don your period/character costume and join in the revelry?
If you haven't been to a Renaissance Faire, would you if given the opportunity? And if you did... would you go in costume or in your "regular" clothing?
