What it's about (from publisher Thomas Nelson):
Amy Lange came to Rosemary Cottage to grieve, to heal, maybe even find love. But there's a deadly undertow of secrets around Hope Island ...
The charming Rosemary Cottage on the beach offers Amy the respite she needs to mourn her brother, Ben. She's even thinking of moving her midwife practice to the Outer Banks community. It's always been a refuge for her and her family. She also wants to investigate Ben's disappearance at sea. Everyone blames a surfing accident, but Amy has reason to wonder.
Coast Guard officer Curtis Ireland has lost a sibling too. His sister, Gina, was run down by a boat, leaving him to raise her infant daughter. If anyone knew who little Raine's father was, Curtis could lose his beloved niece. Yet he can't help being drawn to Hope Beach's new midwife, Amy. He even agrees to help her investigate what happened to both Ben and Gina.
Can two grieving people with secrets find healing on beautiful Hope Island? Or will their quest for truth set them at odds with each other … and with those who will go to any length to keep hidden things hidden?
Why you should read it: Think you have a dysfunctional family? Once you're introduced to the folks around Hope Island, you might just feel compelled to hug all your crazy relatives — they may not be as bad as you thought!
Much-loved romantic suspense author Colleen Coble has created a colorful cast of characters whose extended families are kind of, well, messed up, to put it nicely! — while molding her personal interest in natural health into a charming and suspenseful romance with danger, deception and one wild pony with a particular taste for medicinal herbs. If you're looking for action in your romantic suspense, don't let the sweet name of Rosemary Cottage fool you. This book has a ton of action by way of Coast Guard helicopter rescues, car bombs, speed boats and murders. There are also drug dealers, kidnappers, millionaires and a pretty amazing kiss or two.
Bonus: If you loved Tidewater Inn, the first book in the Hope Beach series, you'll enjoy catching a glimpse into how the romance from that book is working out!(originally appeared at USA Today's Happy Ever After blog)
