Technical Difficulties & Turning 40

No, I haven't died.

But my computer did.

Fifteen days ago.

I have a new one ordered. It shipped yesterday. It's supposed to be here Tuesday and then I will spend a couple of days getting everything loaded, recovered from my old hard drive, and trying not to FREAK OUT any more than I have the past 15 days of my forced fast from technology.

Fifteen. Days.

And speaking of 15s, tomorrow is the 15th day of December and... my 40th Birthday. I've already gotten a really funny (albeit slightly painful) card about saggy boobs and spray tans from one of my besties, so I can only imagine what's coming down the pike from others. (My teen said she might see about prepayment plans on gravestones for me, but since I know she's broke, I'm not too worried.)

In the meantime... today is the final day of my 30s and I am celebrating by visiting my mom and mooching computer time. Just because I love you sweet EIR readers and don't want you to think I abandoned ship.

So. How do I plan to spend December 15, that deep, dark birthday? Well, as a matter of fact, I have a GREAT day planned. To treat myself on the occasion of my 40th birthday, I'm celebrating a new chapter in my writing life by... attending the cover shoot for my first two romantic fantasy novels (YES!) The first set in a multi-set series, THE RYN (book 1) and THE REMEDY (book 2) are an epic re-imagining of Grimm's fairytale, Snow White & Rose Red.  (BTW: Planned release date--for both novels--is late March 2013. Bloggers interested in receiving an e-ARC for review and/or for my April blog tour, please contact me at: chase dot serena at gmail dot com for more information.)

So... that's what's a-happening and why things have been so quiet over here. I promise there will be some new stuff and edgy stuff popping up here someday soon... but in the meantime, thanks for hanging in there with us as I work out my technical difficulties... and come to grips with turning 40!
