Oprah's...uh, Joy's Favorite Things (literary gifts for readers and writers)

T-minus 48 hours until Black Friday and I've already started my internet shopping. Right now I'm obsessed with Etsy. They have some great handmade gifts for the writer or reader in your life (or for your favorite blogger- email me for my address). Here's hoping someone can benefit from all my hours of web surfing. These are a few of my favorite gifts this year (since most of these are one of a kind creations, I'm linking directly to the Etsy shop instead of the specific item).

1. Retro Typewriter Tote bag. $20 Perfect for lugging around research for her next book.

2.Complete Works of William Shakespeare Book Purse. $45

3. Time Stands Still Steampunk Charm Bracelet $110

4. Book Page Wreath $15

5. Vintage Typewriter Key Necklace $17

Have links to literary gifts you'd like to share? Post 'em here so I can drool...

  2. For me, it would be the Shakespeare purse and the bracelet! :o)

Don't know about the wreath, though...it's cool, but if I were the one making it, I don't know how in the world I would be able to stand ripping the pages from a book to create it!

  4. @Juju- I debated posting the bracelet b/c I loved it so much I wanted it for myself. But in the end, I decided I couldn't spend that much on a gift for me before Christmas- not when I've got three kids to shop for. So hopefully it goes to a good home. :)

@Creepy Query Girl- but I do think I'll splurge on a typewriter necklace, they are adorable aren't they?

@Christy- Yeah, I'd have a hard time ripping up a book too. Some of the wreaths I've seen actually have the edges of the pages singed. So they ripped and burned a book! Gasp!

@Katy- I know, right?! So cute. If I thought I could pull that look off, I'd buy it in a second.

  5. LOVE the bracelet and the Shakespeare book purse! I have two books set aside to try to make into bags but I don't have the heart to cut them up LOL!

  8. @Renee- Do you know how to make those book purses? I think you're my new best friend. :)

@Sarah and Faith- Let's cozy up to Renee and see if she'll make us one...or at least show us how. LOL.
